Due on Thursday November 4th

Part I -Review the slide show The Best Friendship Quotes from Popular Movies posted under Friendship Quotes relates to 10/26 class. Go through it and read all of the quotes. Decide which one you like. If you would like to choose a quote from a movie that is NOT in the slide show please feel free to do that. For example; Star Wars and Forrest Gump are not in the slide show. You are free to use a quote from any movie as long as the quote has to do with friendship.  


Choose a quote (from slide show or another movie) In your notebook respond to the following:
  1. Interpret the quote in your own words
  2.  What do you find so interesting about this particular quote?
  3. What does it say about friendship as it relates to identity?
Part II- Based on Thursday 10/28 lesson about Friendship ( The Lecture):
  1. One thing you found to be particularly interesting. Why?
  2. Choose a point that was made during the lecture and agree or disagree with it. Give Support.
  3. Overall Analysis of lecture - 1 paragraph
Part III- Writing Excersise - 4 Paragraph Response - In your notebook
On page 465 in the Models for Writers under Suggested Writing Assignment. Cartoon Sketch is on page466. Please use research to support your ideas about male relationships. This assignment requires one source. Please use the online databases from the LIBRARY!!!
Remember the more research you do, the more knowledge you have!!! Reading is essential!!

If you are having some difficulty with Opposing Viewpoints you might want to try using the other databases. If you continue to experience difficulty , then access the databases from the library. You should have no problem if you log in on campus. In addition, the librarians are very helpful. The library is a beautiful place to be. I know many of you will enjoy the library! Greenley Libary is located on campus and there are many people just like you who are working on  their papers! I think you will find the library a fantastic place to visit!!!

Log onto farmingdale.edu and click on library. Use the library online databases. I would prefer that you did not use google. If you do find something that you absolutely love and it is from a reputable source such as Psychology Today or The New York Times, Harvard or Columbia University .. you can use it.
You can bring in more than 2 sources.   If you choose to, you can use one source from class. (i.e.; any of the articles, essays etc.. that I have introduced)
Have your topic and at least two sources(PRINTED)alongside a  highlighter with you in class tomorrow!"
I will post "How to Write an Argumentative Essay" in PDF Format for those of you who want to print it out and bring it to class.

 Please PRINT the Argumentative Essay Assignment that was posted last week. This is the handout with all of the details of the essay. Pleas BRING it to CLASS tomorrow.

Your paper will require a total of 3 sources. 2 outside sources and one from class OR 3 outside sources.
Sources should come from the LIBRARY. Please us the ONLINE DATABASES!!
