RAFT Assignment - Young Love by Tiffany Sharples (textbook)

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

Due on Thursday 10/13

Hello Writers,

Hope all is well and that you are starting your paper this week. I want to remind you to bring the two articles to class in addition to the index card I gave you on Tuesday.

I posted a sample Expository Essay on the right panel of this blog. Please take a look at it. This might help you develop some ideas as they relate to thesis and topic sentences. Note that the writer does not use transitional phrases. You are asked to use transitional phrases throughout your essay. The writer does use MLA parenthetical citation. Keep in mind this is a website so the writer does not indent. You will need to indent your essay paragraphs. Works Cited  should be on a separate page.

In addition, resources can be found on pg. 3 of your handbook and pg.33 in Models For Writers.

Bring all of your notes to class tomorrow specifically, your notes about outlining and writing a thesis.

If you have any questions getting started, you are welcome to speak to me after class and/or visit the writing center in Knapp Hall Room 30.

Best,

Professor Brady
